| Customer Reviews: A steel toe that fits wide feet. February 7, 2010 J.M. (NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful

ATTENTION!!!:
I Highly recommend that you try to find a local dealer or do a lot of research on witch particular size/shape you need. I had mine sized/shaped to my foot both in length width and general shape at a redwings distributor then adjusted slightly (that's what makes red wing hard to beat). I do not recommend you buy them from any web site unless you know the exact size/shape you need.
I searched high and low for a pair of steel toes that would not fall apart, get uncomfortable over time, fit a square toed gentlemen, be a good tough solid boot that could take getting dirty and wet and oil and heat and abrasion. I needed a steel toe boot that was comfortable but could take me though hell and back without disappointing me. This is that boot, it's made to fit a wide foot that has a square toe (like most people that actually get off their butt and do actual work for a living). The leather is thick enough to hold up but not so thick your feet roast on hot days, the soul is as advertised non slip on just about any surface. The souls are both sewn on and glued with a grout applied over the stitching (like a boot should be). The insides are comfortable with a plain Jane lining that simply holds up. The inserts are made specifically for a wider, flatter foot. What makes red wing deferent from most is the fact they have actual locations you can go to. They will do anything you want them to do. Repair, make slight adjustments, professionally clean and apply polish. They are not the wal mart/tractor supply supporters of the shoe world, if you want to buy red wings you need to go to a red wings store.
I have had these boots since early 2008 and have had the souls and grout replaced since(they are not going to last forever). I'm an electrician buy trade and I have to walk thought it all just like a lot of other people in the construction field. The boots are well worn and look fare from new, but they are still comfortable, still functional and still the best dang pair of boots I have ever put on my feet.
