good morning, the next article, I translate from Spanish to English because I speak only Spanish.
I am very happy with my boots Columbia, which is an excellent brand and I prefer my shoes that mark, very comfortable, light and manageable, highly secure and very good price, thank you very much
OK Boot, but not very weather resistant February 9, 2010 James C. Whiteside III (Virginia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased these boots about 6 months ago. I wanted a light & waterproof design for general office/field use and the weekend hiking trips.
Warm Weather Review:
The boots are very comfortable and feel good all day long even on hard surfaces such as pavement/concrete. But the rubber design does not let the foot breath and it gets VERY hot and sweaty very quickly. At times when I would spend 1-2 hrs standing on pavement the boots would get so hot it was not comfortable.
Cold Weather Review:
With the summer months not being very comfortable, I had high hopes for the winter months. The boots have been very comfortable and even very warm for as light as they are. Even in sub freezing weather they seem to keep the foot warm as long as you are moving. The problem I have found is they are not very resistant to water. Whether it be rain, mud, or snow, the boots seem to get very wet. Seems the seal were the rubber meets the leather is not very resistant to water. The bad part is the boots do not breath, so it takes days for them to dry out once they get wet. Sometimes I only get to wear the boots ever 2-3 days since they take forever to dry.
Over all I am really happy with the design, looks, and feel of the boot and would have given it a easy 5 star if it was not for the leaking issues. I am currently in communications with the company in hopes of getting them repaired. I will see how well this 1 yr warranty really is.
Great Boots; Warm and Comfy January 18, 2010 Bob V. (Near Erie, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had these for over a month now and I can't say enough good things about them! Comfortable right out of the box. Warm enough for most any outdoor activity. Well made and good looking too. (I have the Hawk/Mud color)
And the traction of these soles is incredible, even on sheer ice. I live between Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY so you know I've seen my share of winter weather already. My feet have yet to get even so much as chilled and I've yet to slip at all.
I bought a size 9 1/2 Wide and the fit was good and true, with enough extra room for a good pair of wool socks. Not too heavy, average for a good hiking style boots. I liked them so much that I even bought my girlfriend a pair of BugaZip's for Christmas. Which she loves too!
If these boots last more then a few years then I'd have to say they are the best footwear purchase I have ever made. You cannot beat these for the money.
Buyer beware - The rubber may disintegrate March 7, 2010 D. Rowland (Morgan Hill, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a pair of men's Bugaboots where the lower rubber is cracking and completely delaminated from the leather upper at the stitching. They are now useless. The boots are about 4 years old and have less than 8 uses on them because I only use them for snow trips. If you look at the reviews for the woman's boot this complaint is very common. It looks like these failures are time based and therefore a material defect. I would expect a boot to last a lifetime if they are only worn once a year. Columbia's customer service won't give me the time of day so help is unlikely if yours fail. If you haven't already bought them choose a different boot. I really loved these boots. They were comfortable and did not need a break in. I'm sad to see them go but I'm not about to replace them with the same model.
Big Foot's Warm - At Last February 16, 2010 John N. Schear (Roanoke, Virginia United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After all these really cold days (for here at least) old size 13 finally got his footsies warm and toasty. At first blush they look heavy and bulky. That is far from the facts. They are bigger than one's foot but that's good. The extra width provides better stability to the foot and makes walking better especially in snow. The weight is far less in fact than the look. I expected the opposite and was delightfully surprised. I, however, would not like to run a marathon in these boots. Unlike other boots that I have worn, these slip on easy and when laced they fit perfectly. I really like the top lace holder. It is just the perfect add-on. No water comes in unless you get over 8 inches deep in water or sloppy snow. Then the water comes over the top and not much if the boot is laced properly. Absolutely nothing comes through the boot itself. Often boots have a break-in period. Not these. On and go with ease.
Bottom Line: Big Foot would have another pair in a nanosecond and no equivocation.
